Digital Detox - Self Released
LoGOz are one of the North East of Englands most prolific bands when it comes to writing recording and wowing live audiences country wide. With the world of live music pretty much on hold for the past year, it’s been a time for so many bands/artists to consolidate and create in many other ways.
This has been a life saver for so many of us music fans. So the Digital Detox EP is another slice of LoGOz magic that comes along just when its needed. Being a three piece for so long with Peesh (Vocals/Guitar) at the helm, Paul (Guitar/Vocal) and Carlos (Drums), but now having Kieran on Bass has given them a richer and more rounded sound.
So when ‘Digital Detox’ the title track hits the ears, it come as no surprise that this is pure Rock n Roll punk and its out to get your head banging, its a masterclass in how to frame a socially conscious lyric in a way that never loses what the message is, a message that brings home the realities or is that the unrealities that we live in, should you set the “screen lock” and get some detox from the cyber world, god forbid we have to actually talk face to face everyday!
The next two tracks don’t just make this EP for filler either, ‘Monkey Business’ kicks off with the LoGOz trade mark single string riff, a sound that can never be mistaken, your then given a simple riff soaked rock sound that is filled with down and dirty punk moments that sit so easily in there that it does make you wanna get up and dance without a care for the lyric, but then when you do take a moment to listen, well just listen and see what you get.
‘Joie De Vivre’ gives you exactly what it says, a rock/pop/punk fest of sound that has its place in any self
respecting pop-punk fans playlist, even the darker moments are awash with why seeing the the joys of life should always trump the negative, if you finish this song and don’t feel good, your a lost cause!
Added to this you also get a Demo of a new song, ‘Buckfast Baby’ will take no explain to those in the Punk community, a pleasure and a pain for some, lost time, lost memory, and the need to have again come to mind.
If your not aware of LoGOz, and that by the way is a sin in it self, this EP is goes a long way to letting you know what you have been missing. A lesson in straight up power punk rock, that should not be missed, put it on repeat loudly!
