Talk Me Off

Cursed - Smartpunk Records

This debut full length album released on the 21st Feb from this full on Punk trio with a voice out of Richmond Virginia. Consisting of Holly Herzog (vocals, guitar), Ryan Cacophony (vocals, bass), and Christian Moquin (drums), who together create a sound that on first listen seem to have whole heartedly gone for an album that holds back no punches when it comes to speaking up against all the wrongs in the world, and when things aren’t going all your way, the best thing to do is shout above the noise!

Musically they have taken no real risks here, powerful punk rock that hits all the marks, snappy full on hard hitting drums, gritty in ya face guitar and a bass that pulls this all together with its grungy dirty wonderfulness.

But if you have songs that want to stand up and shout or be the voice of a generation, then does the back drop to this need to be anymore than exactly this? what you can be very sure of though is that when played live, the energy and angst will not be in short measure.

With the name Talk Me off it doesn’t come as too much of a shock that what this album is all about is the lyrical content, without in any way taking anything from the music, which is full of catchy little melodies, sharp snappy and full of good old punk rock edginess, it does feel that this has been produced in such a way that the messages, the angst, the words that mean so much to the bands ethos are given the best platform.  Stand out tracks are by far “Cursed” the title track and “Denial” the latter having a wonderful bass line that runs through this very short and to the point song.

Definitely a band with all the potential, in a genre that is filled with so many stand out albums, they at least hold their own and will be on the radar of so many live music fans, this is for sure.
