Protists Announce Debut Single ‘Scorched Earth’

Manchester based punk project Protists to release debut download single ‘Scorched Earth‘ via all good digital service providers on the 29th October. ‘Scorched Earth‘ features vocals from punk debutant Joy Stix, heavy guitar excavation by Paul S, anvil crack bass Rat Akadave and tribal attack mode drums from Malc Function, the song was recorded in collaboration with musicians dredged from the beer swilled drinking floors of Brighton. With only one permanent member, the music relies on the talents and idiosyncrasies of various contributing musicians, Protists are not so much a band as a movement towards combating the restrictive times we live in. Protists, like their namesake, can be defined as ‘A diverse group or category that many organisms are put into when they don’t quite meet the expected requirements’
