Philly-Producer Old City has once again teamed up with the Buffalo rapper Tre Marsh to release their new single, ‘Pipebomb‘. The track is a bitingly satirical commentary on the destructive nature of an unchecked police force in the modern day. The track is a genre fusion that samples the Dead Kennedys‘ song ‘Police Truck‘ and matches to the production stylings of ‘2001‘-era Dr. Dre. This new style, formed by blending the aesthetics of punk rock and hip hop, is a mere taste of whats to come from the duo. #blacklivesmatter #justiceforbreonna

Written from the perspective of a corrupt cop joyfully indulging in police brutality, Tre invokes the braggadocious persona of a reckless officer safe from accountability with the protection of the Blue Wall of Silence. Faced against a legacy of extra-judicial murders, a bloated police department budget, and an unapologetic police union, the track serves as a blanket attack on the practices of militarized law enforcement in the US lacking accountability and forgiveness.
