London four-piece Lapyear are back with the second single ‘Negative (I Wish I Was)‘ that is part of their upcoming “Smile” EP. Whilst Lapyear still keep the core elements seen in their previous single, such as inspirations from earlier grunge, emo and brit pop artists, this next release also sees incorporation of DIY-emo/punk influences, the likes of Oso Oso, Balance & Composure, Macseal and more. This cross combination of such vast influences makes for something truly unique. Vocalist Chris Burton had this to say “Lyrically, “Negative” is a subtle dig to anyone that tries to hold you back from your personal goals, whether it be a relationship, a family member, someone you work with, or someone that’s jealous of your achievements.”
