Earthquake

As a band we can agree that this song is an absolute blast to listen to and to play. This song is also a ton of fun to do live because there are a lot of parts for crowd interaction. “Earthquake” has been in our band’s pocket since our first show so it will always mean a lot to us. This song as a whole tells a story of a person coming into your life, wrecking everything, then just leaving. “So I’ll stand up, rebuild the pieces and watch the storm blow far away” helps show that they may have caused issues, but that does not mean that you cannot learn and grow from these experiences. Breaking up is hard! Learn from them and it’ll make the experience a whole lot easier.

Questions and Answers

This song is different from the rest because of how much guitar work is going on. While it isn’t necessarily at the forefront, if you listen closely, you can hear Noah and Andrew going crazy with the lead work. This one was the most recent addition to the Don’t Look Back album, but it fit right in perfectly. This song tells the story of mental health as a whole. This album has a theme of “growth” if you haven’t noticed. “And I took my heart from all of this and turned it into writing” helps show that sometimes you have to take the bad experiences, move forward, and turn them into something good.

Cost of Happiness

Huge. Catchy. Emotional. This song will definitely tug at your heartstrings a little bit. Something cool to note is the sheer amount of vocal layering Sarah and Kelsey worked on in the studio for the harmonies and backing vocals for this song. It added a ton of extra texture to the song and makes it sound absolutely massive. This song talks about how you can love someone, but that doesn’t mean that they are right for you. Watching someone you love fall in love with someone else right in front of you is hard, but if you truly want the best for them you have to move on yourself and grow from it.

Lost At Sea

As a band we can agree that this song shows the most emotional depth from our lead vocalist Sarah as a whole. She really put her whole heart and soul into this track. We love all of the raw emotion and how the melodies really reflect the words she’s saying. This song goes along with a similar theme of “Cost of Happiness” in a way that sometimes you just aren’t meant to be. You can do everything right in a relationship but sometimes it just still falls apart.

Boomerang

This is by far one of ourfavorites on the EP. This song definitely might bring you back to a simpler time with a Green Day type of sound. This one really feels like a pop punk classic to us. Tom originally brought the bones and the groundwork for this track, then we all came together to help make it a certified Suitable Miss banger. Boomerang is also very fun to do live because the crowd is always there to contribute the “Come Back to Me!” parts of the song. Absolute blast to play, absolutely blast to listen to.

Black And White

Absolute banger. This song is so fun. Playing Black and White in particular is so enjoyablebecause of all the chuggy guitar work. The riffs are a blast, the chorus is packed full of energy, and it has serious mid 2000’s easycore vibes. This song originated from Sarah who had a little acoustic riff to go with the catchy chorus. From there, Andrew took instrumentation into his hands and made it a pop punk, more energetic, all together exciting song to have on our EP. This song ultimately shows our theme of the entire album, Don’t Look Back. Challenges in life can feel like they are going to walk all over you and tear you apart completely. But you can’t let them do that. You have to move on, do what is best for yourself and grow from the obstacles life brings you. “I see the light and I’m standing up off of the floor” is key to this song because it shows that no matter how many times you get knocked down, you can shake it off and keep moving forward. Don’t Look Back.
