Exclusive: Calling All Astronauts ‘#Resist’ Track By Track

Calling All Astronauts produce cutting edge gothic electro punk that pushes the envelope, now the revered goth punks are set to drop their engulfing new album “#Resist” on Friday 5th June and have also just revealed the video for their upcoming single ‘Welcome To The Black Bloc‘. Calling All Astronauts are now continuing their surge towards the release of “#Resist“, the band remark about the album: “In a time when Racists, Fascists, Xenophobes, Homophobes, Nationalists and any other lowlifes you care to imagine seem to feel empowered by populist politicians, we have become increasingly angry, and we’ve channelled that anger into making this record”. With all of this in mind, we asked the band to give us an exclusive track by track insight to their forthcoming album.

‘The Holy Trinity‘

It’s about populist politicians, who don’t care how many lives they destroy as long as they are making money, Greed Power and War are their Holy Trinity and will go to any lengths to fulfil their agenda.

‘Divided States Of America‘

Donald trump came to power with the most divisive campaign in history, using the targeting of minority groups as a campaign tool, promising to build walls and “lock up” his political opponents, so when he won the Presidential election with a minority of votes, he left the country divided.

‘Give Them A Leader‘

As politics globally have polarised, there are vast swathes of people who feel unrepresented, they don’t want far right or hard left, they just want somebody who will fund education, a health service, look after the elderly etc, whilst encouraging people to be aspirational, this majority of people are left looking for a leader to return some sanity to everyday life.

‘Rapture‘

There is a lot of evidence to prove that Climate Change exists, but politicians just seem to be paying lip service to actually doing anything about it, this song predicts the end of the world brought about by government inactivity, so we just have a party and say goodbye to Planet Earth.

‘New World Disorder‘

If things carry on as they are a dystopian world looks like the inevitable result, facial recognition, CCTV, an Orwellian society, it’s up to the youth of the world to say, this isn’t the future we want, they have to stand up for what is right if they don’t want to be slaves of the few.

‘Fifteen Minutes‘

Social media, in fact the media in general is full of manufactured pop stars, it’s just laughable how they take themselves so seriously despite not writing their own songs and having their voices autotuned out of recognition, a producer who had worked with one of these people, said her vocal was so bad he got her to sing every word individually and then spliced them together.

‘Resist‘

People have had enough of being manipulated and trampled on by the powers that be, the majority of people find right wing politics abhorrent, and so the resist movement was born, this is our anthem for the movement.

‘Post Truth World‘

Trump, Johnson, The Brexit campaign and The Internet Research Agency to name but a few, have all lied to people as a matter of course, they really don’t care what they tell people as long as it fits their agenda, they use social media to spread campaigns of hate and fear using bots and fake accounts in our Post Truth World.

‘Reason‘

This is about the effect of social media manipulation, people can be convinced that anything is true, there are reports of people who think Sadiq Khan has imposed Sharia law in London. Russia is waging a new cold war on the west, but this time it’s not an arms race it’s very clever social media manipulation.

‘Welcome To The Black Bloc‘

The Black Bloc tactic started in Europe in the 90’s to stop the eviction of squatters, but has been adopted by groups Like ANTIFA and Occupy, and is used as a means of concealing a persons identity to avoid prosecution.

‘Not In My Name‘

The title of this is really self-explanatory, people saying we are doing this or that for the good of our country, well no they are not, they are doing and saying those things because it suits their far right agenda, there is no altruism, there is nothing there to benefit us all, when the shit hits the fan they and them alone will have to stand up and be counted because they sure as hell are not acting in my name.
