MC Lars Dates And Titles Eighth Studio Album

Post-punk laptop rapper MC Lars has released details regarding his freshly announced eighth full-length album.  The album is titled Lars Attacks! and is set for a September 6, 2011 release on his very own Horris Records.  To mark the announcement, Lars has debuted a brand new music video for the album’s paranormal-themed title track.  The video was directed by his best friend Tim Thompson (“White Kids Aren’t Hyphy”, “Single and Famous”, “The Gigantic Robot Kills”).  MC Lars discusses the album’s direction:

“Lars Attacks! is about attacking the audience with the truth. Every single song on the album is about faith and karma and how that can play out, positively or negatively… Lars Attacks! is a more serious record and I was able to harness the energy and electricity of being back in New York City for this project – I went back to where hip-hop began. There is nothing really topical or pop culture-related about this album, which is why I’m proud of it. We were able to make it completely through fan donations through Kickstarter, so I got to decide everything about it.”

Lars funded the project through a Kickstarter campaign, which pulled in nearly five times the original $23,282 goal.
