Cosmic punks WACO have released a stream of the new track, Coolangatta, ahead of the release of their forthcoming new EP, Deathless, that is set for release through Gallows‘ label Venn Records on 2nd June 2017. The track is a summery slab of stomping punk rock shot through with a horn section and dripping in the kind of rose-tinted, working class Northern sentiments that have been picked out as a trademark of the WACO sound, Coolangatta is a fist-in-the-air statement that comes just in time for the sunshine season.

Gallows are finally ready to unleash the next phase of their punk rock attack on the world with the highly-anticipated release of their follow-up to 2009 album Grey Britain. The album self-titled Gallows is set for release through the band’s own label Venn Records (in partnership with [PIAS] Recordings), the self-titled album was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by long-term friends Thomas Mitchener and Steve Sears at Broadfields Studio in Watford. Pre-order the album on iTunes and Amazon. Watch and share the documentary trailer here. Gallows self-titled album is coming September 18, 2012 on Bridge Nine Records with a North American tour in November 2012.
“We made this record self-titled as it musically defines the band known as Gallows as we exist today,” explain the band. “This is the first of many releases to come from the house of Venn Records, our imprint, hijacked from PIAS those long standing backers of independent rock n roll. This our statement of intent, our laugh in the face of those who said Gallows were done when in reality we’re just warming up,” they continue. “We couldn’t feel more vindicated and proud.”
