Grove Street Families are back with a new mixtape, Vol. 1.0, that is out now on Venn Records. Tracks like Sundaze, that features Obijuan, prove Grove Street Families aren’t just a Grand Theft Auto themed hardcore band anymore, it’s a hazy, stoned summer jam. Vol. 1.0 bridges the gap between Grove Street Families being a bit of a laugh to now being a hardcore bastion with pure conviction, but obviously still being more fun than ever before.

Cheap Surgery formed in April 2017 and recorded their demo instantly, the demo clocks in at just over 5 minutes and packs one hell of a punch. At times it lends itself to the ferocious yet upbeat side of punk, other times it leans closer to the sounds of the hardcore world. It’s fast, it’s fun, it’s progressive but most importantly it’s hard as fucking nails. Cheap Surgery‘s 2017 Demo is now available as a pay what you feel download, and will be released as a limited edition pink tape on August 25th via Venn Records.

Fresh from completing a brief tour of the UK, the London based cosmic punk outfit WACO have announced their return to recording with the imminent release of their new EP, Deathless, that is set for release through Gallows label, Venn Records, tomorrow, the 2nd June 2017. The quartet, that originally hail from the weirder nooks of the UK, came together through their animalistic compulsion to make noise and their shared goal to brainwash the masses with their relentless optimism, and Deathless certainly lives up to their lofty ambitions
Mother Mercy opens with a guitar riff that recalls The Only Ones ability to raise the hairs on the back of your neck, after this it becomes an original unpredictable staccato blast of punk infused alt rock, the next track, Heavy Heart, picks you up by the scruff of the neck as it channels a solid street punk inspired punker, which is promptly followed by the raucous Coolangatta that carries the blue collar grunt of The Hold Steady. The heaviest hitter, and the EP’s finest moment, is the frenetic Feed Your Head before the final track, Best Friend, brings things to an anthemic and rocky close.
WACO have released an energetic and original EP that is the perfect follow up to their debut single, Sundown, and last years critically acclaimed Uprise EP. Deathless is an upbeat blast of a five track EP that blends the attitude and hedonism of punk with the spirit of heartland rock, along with a sprinkle of indie and psych influences, to impressive effect. The end result is an EP that is so relentlessly optimistic and infectious that it’s hard not to feel uplifted after giving it a spin, even for the most hardened cynic.

“Astroid Boys are legit punks! We’re no strangers to a racuous show but those guys are next level. We’re so pumped to be a part of this tour.”
The band is planning to release a new EP later this Spring on VENN Records. Tour dates are below.
Birmingham, UK punks Youth Man have signed on with Venn Records, the label set up by punk rock stalwarts Gallows. Their first release for the new label will be an as-yet-untitled EP due for release in Spring 2016, which will feature recent single Pigs.
Laurent “Lags” Barnard of Gallows and Venn Records had this to say about signing up the trio: “Youth Man are as real as it gets – thrilling and uncompromising.”
Having just finished a sold-out UK tour, Gallows have announce the release of “Cross Of Lorraine” as a single this coming December 10, 2012 on Venn Records.
You can hear the song below.
The track comes from their new self titled album which is available now through Bridge Nine Records. It was the band’s first record with new vocalist Wade MacNeil, formerly of Alexisonfire, who joined the band in 2011 replacing the enigmatic front man Frank Carter.
Gallows are finally ready to unleash the next phase of their punk rock attack on the world with the highly-anticipated release of their follow-up to 2009 album Grey Britain. The album self-titled Gallows is set for release through the band’s own label Venn Records (in partnership with [PIAS] Recordings), the self-titled album was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by long-term friends Thomas Mitchener and Steve Sears at Broadfields Studio in Watford. Pre-order the album on iTunes and Amazon. Watch and share the documentary trailer here. Gallows self-titled album is coming September 18, 2012 on Bridge Nine Records with a North American tour in November 2012.
“We made this record self-titled as it musically defines the band known as Gallows as we exist today,” explain the band. “This is the first of many releases to come from the house of Venn Records, our imprint, hijacked from PIAS those long standing backers of independent rock n roll. This our statement of intent, our laugh in the face of those who said Gallows were done when in reality we’re just warming up,” they continue. “We couldn’t feel more vindicated and proud.”
