The Riverboat Gamblers Set Release Of Massive Fraud Single

riverboat gamblers

The Riverboat Gamblers have announced the release of the band’s next single “Massive Fraud” on Friday, June 24, 2016 as part of their single series on End Sounds. The band (who appear in Richard Linklater‘s movie Everybody Wants Some) recorded “Massive Fraud” before singer Mike Wiebe suffered a collapsed lung and broken ribs at the band’s March, 18th SXSW 2016 show. Despite these injuries he somehow finished the band’s set before heading to the hospital. The band’s plans have been cut short due to the injury and they have subsequently cancelled all shows until their singer recovers, but to quote The Riverboat Gamblers “Don’t Bury Me…I’m Still Not Dead.”

The Riverboat Gamblers’ “Massive Fraud” release is available for pre-order on transparent yellow vinyl, cassette, and digitally here.

Interviews: Riverboat Gamblers

Riverboat GamblersAustin, Texas’ Riverboat Gamblers have been busy making a name for themselves over the past few years. After a few smaller releases, the band broke to a broader fan base with their breakthrough 2005 Volcom Entertainmentdebut, To The Confusion of Our Enemies, and never looked back. A constant touring schedule has kept them busy – touring all over the world in small venues, big venues and the occasional festival or two. One of those festivals is, of course, The Vans Warped Tour and 2010 saw the band play the entire tour for the second time. Touring in support of 2009’s Underneath The Owl with a recovering Ian Macdougall on guitar, Riverboat Gamblers were out there every day putting on a hectic performance that seems to, more often than not, end up with front man Mike Wiebe climbing all over the stage and speakers.

On the first day of the tour I caught up with the energetic singer to discuss his anticipation for the tour and everything he remembered from doing it before in 2005.

Read the interview here.
