The Bombpops Sign To Fat Wreck Chords

California female fronted melodic punks The Bombpops have signed on with Fat Wreck Chords.  The band plans to release a new LP entitled Fear Of Missing Out on February 10, 2017 via Fat Wreck Chords.  The band comments on the new material:

“It’s taken our whole band’s life to make this record, but we’re lucky we waited this long to do it… It was the right time. I’m a big fan of the shiny, polished-sounding record, and we got to make that for our first record. It’s so cliché and cheesy to say, but it’s more mature, especially the vocals. We learned how to sing. We learned how to have more movement in our melodies. We learned a lifelong lesson of how to be in a band and get along together and make things happen.”

By now, Red Scare Industries has a certain sound associated with them. A “Chicago” punk sound you may call it and they rarely – if ever- miss. Those going into The Bombpops’ Stole The TV expecting to hear another Holy Mess, Nothington, Falcon or Brendan Kelly will be sorely disappointed. But if you step past that, you’ll hear that Red Scare has one again succeeded in finding a gem of an album here by going out of their comfort zone.

This four song, ten minute EP is a sugary sweet mixture of female fronted pop-punk that is near perfection. More punk than Paramore and more poppy than The Distillers, this is a fast paced pop-punk album akin to Bambix, The Measure [SA] and The Gateway District. Ever loved The DollyrotsThe FightThe Unlovables maybe? Maybe you’re missing Tsunami Bomb? Look no further, The Bombpops are for you.

They start off with (Back To) The Medicine Cabinet, an easily relatable song about hating your job and wanting to play music instead. Driving drum beat, catching lyrics that showcase Poli Van Damn’s vocals, this could be Blink 182 in their Dammit era with a smoother edge. Paranoid slows it for the introduction before they kick it off and really cement The Dollyrots meet Tsunami Bomb influence and also features a damn sweet bass-breakdown. Grocery Store is a classic Ergs pop-punk song that leads into the final track of Crazy with the catchiest chorus of the album.

At four songs, The Bombpops leave you wanting more. They could quite easily be one of the strongest pop-punk bands around that you haven’t heard yet and Stole The TV can work as the perfect introduction.
