Video: Hot Water Music – State Of Grace (Live on Neoparadise)

Hot Water MusicBuilding up the anticipation for their new album, Florida’s punk stewarts Hot Water Music performed their new single, “State of Grace,” on a popular German late night program called Neoparadise.

Hot Water Music Details Exister

Hot Water MusicHot Water Music has announced release details regarding their first new album in eight years.  The album will be titled Exister, and is currently set for a May 15, 2012 release via Rise Records.  The Decendents’ Bill Stevenson (Bouncing Souls, Rise Against, NOFX) served as producer for the album which was recorded this past January at the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO.

Hot Water Music Wrap Recording On Forthcoming Album

Hot Water MusicGainesville Florida’s Hot Water Music have announced via their official Twitter account that they have completed the recording process for their latest upcoming full-length.  The band entered the studio back in January, shortly before announcing an appearance at New Jersey’s Bamboozle Festival in May.  Recently front-man Chuck Ragan has also announced dates for a spring U.S. Revival Tour.

The album will mark the band’s debut on Rise Records, and will be out sometime later this year.

Hot Water MusicHot Water Music has announced that they are heading to the studio in preparation to start recording their Rise Records debut.  The band writes “We’re moving into @BlastingRoom,” where Bill Stevenson will be overseeing the record.

The band released The Fire, The Steel, The Tread/Up To Nothing 7″ last year on No Idea Records.

Hot Water Music Details New Live Album

Hot Water MusicFlorida’s Hot Water Music, who are releasing a new album on Rise Records soon, are also set to release a new live album culled from their reunion shows in 2008.  The performance was recorded by No Idea Records who then created a 7” series. Six volumes in total were made over 2010 and 2011 with each volume beinglimited to 1,000 copies and sold out immediately leaving many folks empty handed.
 
Now No Idea and Hot Water Music are taking the best version of every song they played at The Metro in Chicago on February 1st & 2nd, 2008 and putting them together for a a 30-song, 90-minute live journey through the band’s history in your choice of three formats: 3xLP, die-cut, wide-spine jacket with printed inner sleeves, 2xCD and digital. 
The record will be available on September 27th. The vinyl color variations will be announced on release date and there will be no pre-order for this collection!

Hot Water Music Announces The Fire, The Steel, The Tread / Adds Up To Nothing EP

After seven long years, Hot Water Music has announced their first new material since their lengthy hiatus.  The band will break the dry spell digitally on August 2, 2011 (August 29th for the physical 7″) with a double track EP titled The Fire, The Steel, The Tread / Adds Up To Nothing which features two tracks of the same name.  Front man Chuck Ragan comments on the long road leading up to the release:

“Timing. It’s always been a matter of timing… we’ve wanted to get it together but have all been full steam ahead in our own directions that it’s taken this long to do it… We’re still four moving parts in a moving world and have been sending ideas back and forth as well as recordings… so it’s extremely exciting to us to see what we accomplish in the same room soon after seeing what we were able to do over the lines.”

The pre-sale for the physical vinyl 7″ copies will start on August 15th, and be available from No Idea RecordsChunksaah Records, and the Hot Water Music webstore.  Each supplier will be offering different colored vinyl, bundled with a special edition t-shirt limited to 1,000 copies.

Hot Water Music Gives Details On Upcoming Plans

Hot Water MusicThomas Nassiff (AbsolutePunk.net) recently spoke to Hot Water Music’s Jason Black on the recent signing to Rise Records, the upcoming 7″ and full-length, and playing Fest 10.

In the interview, Black explains the band’s decision to sign to Rise Records, stating his positive impression of the label and their dedication to the industry is far from waning.

They’re just kind of killing it right now. They’re still kind of fearless with their attitude. A lot of other labels are scaling back and trying to re-evaluate their gameplan where Rise is just trying to keep going and going. – says Black.

Hot Water Music Signs To Rise Records

Hot Water MusicRise Records have signed Florida’s Hot Water Music.

The band will enter the studio this winter to record a new full-length which will be released worldwide on Rise with a targeted spring 2012 release date.  In the meantime, the band will self release a new 2-song 7” record in August, in support of their European headlining tour with Make Do And Mend; the dates are below.

After that tour, they will also be headlining RIOTFEST inPhiladelphia in September and THE FEST in late October in their hometown of Gainesville, FL.

Doghouse Records To Release Retrospective Compilation

Doghouse RecordsDoghouse Records are set to release a new compilation entitled Retrospective Vol. 1. The release will feature tracks from some of the biggest and best bands that have been on the label’s roster over the last two decades.

Volume one features genre-defining bands like Hot Water Music, The Get Up Kids, Chamberlain, Threadbare, Endpoint, Limbeck and many more. The digital-only compilation will be released on July 26th.  Check out the tracklisting below.

Tour: Make Do and Mend

Make Do And MendMake Do and Mend have announced their first extensive tour in support for their critically acclaimed debut on Paper and Plastick (End Measured Mile) which was released in October.

The tour started yesterday with a brief U.S. run that ends at SXSW.  The band will then head to the U.K. with Fireworks on March 20th then fly back across the ocean to the U.S. for a month’s of touring with The Wonder Years, Fireworks, Such Gold, and Living With Lions, starting on April 8th. Make Do And Mend will also be performing at highly touted punk festivals Krazyfest and Rainfest (at the Panic Records Showcase), as well as a few dates with Hot Water Music in May.

Hot Water Music Limited Edition Vinyl

Hot Water MusicHot Water Music have released the penultimate of a series of limited edition vinyl pressings of a show recorded in Chicago in Feb 2008. Available since March 1st, like the previous four 7″ singles from the gig this pressing is limited to 1000 copies.

Bouncing Souls And Hot Water Music Team Up For January Split

Chunksaah Records has announced that the Bouncing Souls run label will be hosting a new split featuring both the long running Epitaph Records alumni act and Hot Water Music.  Each band will provide a cover of from the other’s discography.  The Bouncing Souls will be giving their take on “Wayfarer,” with Hot Water Music covering the anthemic classic, “True Believers.” The pressing will be limited to 2000 copies – 500 Black Paper with Red & Silver Foil, 500 Grey Paper with Pearl White & Black Foil, and 1000 Black Paper with Red & Pearl White Foil.  The split is currently set for a January 11, 2011 release.

We figured we should keep the tradition alive and tell you one more important piece of news regarding the two long-running bands.

In our interview with Bryan Kienlen of The Bouncing Souls, he announced that they will be partnering with Hot Water Music to do a new split seven inch record where each band will cover a song from each band’s back catalog:

This year The Bouncing Souls and Hot Water Music are going to put out a split. They’re going to cover True Believers and I think we’re going to cover Wayfarer but we haven’t decided yet. We’re going to cover each other’s songs; put out a split seven inch and we’re going to go on tour in Australia and New Zealand.

We will post more information regarding the release and the tour as it becomes available.
