The Manchester Punk Festival is taking place again in 2017, between the 20th and 22nd April, across a number of venues in Manchester, UK’s City Centre, the festival has now added the energetic punk rock of Canada’s Brutal Youth, the politically charged punk rock of Essex’s The Filaments, the melodic hardcore of Liverpool punkers Chief, the acoustic pop punk of Onsind, the 80’s hardcore of Throwing Stuff and the anarchic folk punk of Matilda’s Scoundrels to the 2017 line up, as well as Tosserlad, Bobby Funk, Rash Decision, Iron Drugs, Grotbags, Dirty Twisters, Muskets, Lineout and One Hidden Frame being added to the already impressive bill.

This is the second volume of the compilations that precede the festival, that will feature all of the bands that are appearing in 2017, has been released. The Manchester Punk Festival Volume Eleven features Shot, The Toasters, Edward in Venice, The Deadites, Nosebleed, AOS3, A Great Notion, Crywank, Thee Infidels, The Human Project, Stoj Snak, Brightr, El Escapado, Nervus and Black Star Dub Collective . The previous ten volumes of the Manchester Punk Festival compilations, that cover the 2015 to 2017 line ups, are also still available as name your price downloads.

The Manchester Punk Festival has announced the next wave of bands that will be descending on Manchester for MPF2017. Canadian skate punk legends Belvedere will be returning to the UK for their first show in over five years, German tech-punkers Money Left To Burn, Danish singer-songwriter Stoj Snak and German ska-core kings BrainDead have also been added to the party. Grand Collapse and Petrol Girls will both be playing to add some fire to the performances, along with bands including Faintest Idea, Maid Of Ace and a rare appearance from AOS3 to get you moving.

Philadelphia’s Paint It Black will be playing their first UK show in seven years at Manchester Punk Festival 2017. Paint It Black and its members embody what the festival is all about in terms of supporting grassroots music, keeping things ethical and addressing serious issues through music and community. Featuring members of other legendary bands such as Kid Dynamite, None More Black, Ceremony & Lifetime, Paint It Black are one of the most important and influential hardcore bands around. This will likely be one of two shows Paint It Black play in the UK. In addition to Paint It Black the Manchester Punk Festival also proud to welcome another legendary band in the form of New York’s The Toasters. This band have been a stalwart in the ska-punk scene for as long as most of us have been alive and it’s an honour to have them as part of the festival.
