The Swellers Set To Enter Studio; Record Daytrotter Session

The Swellers The Swellers recently stopped by Daytrotter for a quick live session.  Watch the band perform here.  The band plans to step into the studio on April 19, 2013 to record their fourth studio album. Nick Diener comments:

“This feels eerily similar to how things went down in 2009 when we were still between labels and had no management, but had a bunch of songs we were really excited about… That’s how our record Ups and Downsizing came about. So this organic, creative process is going to be a nice return to form.”

The band currently supports their latest independent release, Running Out Of Places To Go.

Lagwagon Record Daytrotter Session

Lagwagon recently stopped by the Daytrotter studio for a four song session. The and performed the songs “Angry Youth,” “Making Friends,” “May 16,″ and “Weak.”  Lagwagon recently reissued and remastered their entire back catalogue on Fat Wreck Chords.

Frank TurnerFrank Turner recently stopped by Daytrotter Studios for an acoustic set.  The band performed “One Foot Before The Other,” Balthazar, Impresario,” “Sailor’s Boots,” “you Can’t Choose the One That You Love.”  Frank Turner last released England Keep My Bones, released earlier this year on Epitaph Records (US)/Xtra Mile Records (UK).

RX BanditsAs one of their final farewell gifts after their breakup earlier this year, RX Bandits have given fans another farewell gift in the form of four acoustic recordings as part of the Daytrotter Sessions series.  The songs include “Buff Cab,” “Only For The Night,” “Burning In Jamacia,” and “March Of The Caterpillar.” The band last released Mandala in 2009.

Social Distortion DaytrotterSocial Distortion are the latest band to stop by Daytrotter to record a live set for them. Mike Ness and the band recorded a trio of tunes – “Ring Of Fire,” “Reach For The Sky” and “Prison Bound” – all of which can be downloaded or streamed right here.

Today also sees the brand new album from Social Distortion hit stores through Epitaph Records. The album, Hard Times & Nursery Rhymes, is the first album since 2004’s Sex, Love & Rock ‘n’ Roll.


Fake Problems on Daytrotter

The band recorded four songs from their recent Real Ghosts Caught On Tape album along with an unreleased track called I Love To Boogie.

TumbledownTumbledown (MxPx frontman Mike Herrera’s country side project) recently sat down for some live sessions at the Daytrotter Studios for a four track set.  The songs include “Let’s Drink,” “Butcher of San Anntone,” “State Line,” and “Son Of A Gun.”  The band just released their sophomore album, Broken Bottle, last month on End Sounds Records.

Drag The River recently stopped over at the Daytrotter studios for a quick five song session.  The tracks include “Chattering Choire,” “Here’s To The Losers,” “History With History,” “Remembering (Pts. 2 & 1),” and “Other Side Of OK.”  The country inspired Colorado act last released Bad At Breaking Up in 2009 via Suburban Home Records, and are in the process of recording their followup.

The MainePop punk outfit The Maine recently sat down at Daytrotter studios for a four track live set.  The set list included songs “Right Girl,” “Inside Of You,” “Fuel To The Fire,” and “Don’t Stop Now.”  The Maine recently released their major label debut, Black & White, through Warner Bros.

Far
