Tucson, AZ hardcore crossover act CONS have announced that their new EP Slowhealer is due for release on August 11th via Revival Recordings. This is the first new material since a line-up and name change (formerly Coma Prevail) following the tragic passing of original frontman Tyler Stevens.
Ahead of the street date, the band are streaming Burden of Knowing Why and guitarist and founding band member Jeremy Ray Talley had this to say about the song:
“Religion, Drugs, Lust, Power, Money etc these things that distract us and keep a veil over our eyes as the oncoming storm of ceasing to exist ever approaches. It’s about accepting our inevitable fates and finding love in ourselves and for one another before it’s too late to get the most out of our short lives. This song is one of the more rhythmically complicated songs throughout the first minute, a lot of chaos held together by the vocals. The mid point in the song transitions into something a little more listener friendly and we wanted an anthemic positive vocal to close out the song with.”
