Amnesia Rockfest Announces 2015 Lineup

Amnesia RockfestQuebec’s annual Amnesia Rock Fest music festival has unveiled their full lineup for this year’s edition, which marks their 10th anniversary.

The headliners are typical mass selling alt rock acts like Rob Zombie and Linkin Park, but the heart of the lineup consists of a wealth of exciting punk, hardcore and ska acts. Some of the more notable acts are Rancid (performing …And Out Come the Wolves), both  Descendents and ALL, and a Swedish invasion with Refused, Raised Fist, No Fun at All, Randy and Satanic Surfers channelling the 90s heyday of Burning Heart Records.

The majority of the diverse lineup is made up of American bands and includes metal acts (Down, Hatebreed), hardcore (Sick of it All, Cro Mags), ska (Voodoo Glow Skulls, Catch 22) and classic punk groups (Exploited, Buzzcocks). There is literally something for everyone, with comedy acts, industrial groups and even obscure French music for those who haven’t travelled too far.

A new addition this year is an opening day to the festival, Fuck Sponsors Night, which will be void of marketing. It will include an extremely rare festival appearance from Canadian legends Propagandhi, with a Rage Against the Machine tribute group and guests in a small venue.

Rock Fest will run from June 18-21, 2015 in Montebello, Quebec. Ticket prices range from $177 (incl. fees) for General Admission to the obscene $4386 (incl. fees) for those who have insane amounts of spare cash to blow on a VIP package.

Full lineup and ticketing info can be found here.

RockfestQuebec is the province to be in for summer music festivals. May Long weekend sees Pouzza Fest take over Montreal, Quebec City plays host to Festival D’Ete for 11 days in July and sandwiched between them in the much smaller town on Montebello, Amnesia Rockfest is getting ready to cause some havoc on June 14th and 15th this year.

Pulling bands from the likes of Rise Against, The Offspring, Social Distortion, Millencolin, Rancid and Flatlinersalongside Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Anthrax and the legends such as Flag, Bad Brains and Screeching Weasel – the festival, which features over 150 bands today, is a haven for punk and rock enthusiasts. Attracting crowds from every single continent, people find a way to make it into Montebello and camp there for the weekend; making for a non-hipster Coachella festival out in the outbacks for Quebec.

Dustin Blumhagen gave Rockfest founder Alex Martel a call to discuss the history behind the festival and what people can expect from one of Canada’s biggest festivals.
