Song: When You've Had Enough (acoustic version) - Gameface | Reviewer:
Bobby Gorman |
| For a label which was created for the sole purpose of releasing a 7-inch by
a single band (Majority Of One), Doghouse Records have sure done
very well for themselves. During the past 15 years, Doghouse Records
have introduced the world to numerous talents. The All-American Rejects,
The Get Up Kids and Hot Water Music are a few which jump to mind.
The label, which was never supposed to do anything other then the one 7"
by Majority Of One, is now coming up to their 100th release. They are
celebrating in the same way they did with their 50th release, and that is to
release a cheap sampler (only 5 bucks!) of some new, unreleased material along
with some previously released ones. Doghouse 100 has 10 songs from bands in their current lineup (with the
exception of The All-American Rejects which recently jumped onto the
Dreamworks Records roster). Each band has a unique style and sound which
makes the album have a very diverse sound. From the high energy pop-punk stylings
of Feable Weiner to the acoustic melodies of Gameface to the darker
sounds of The Break, each band adds a little something to the compilation
and the label itself. Each band has one major thing in common though (other
then the fact of being on the same record label), they are all in it for the
love of music and work their butts off to create the music they love. Doghouse 100 gives respect to this great indie record label. So go out
and support the label and bands by picking up this compilation, and after all,
its only 5 bucks.
