Los Angeles duo The Dollyrots are known for delivering high-energy punk rock filled with the bubblegum hooks of pop. Since their debut release in 2004, the group has been refining their sound, musical chops, and fun-filled stage show, mixing hook-laden pop-rock gems with a vicious guitar assault and plenty of attitude to spare. The band have now announced a brand new 7″ limited edition pink vinyl release in partnership with Cleopatra Records. Following in the footsteps of Weezer‘s cover of Toto‘s Africa and The Ataris cover of Don Henley‘s Boys Of Summer, The Dollyrots transform the soft rock classic, Alone Again (Naturally), that was originally recorded in 1972 by Gilbert O’Sullivan, into a fun, fist-pumping punk rock anthem! That track is backed with an original song entitled That’s Not Even All, which highlights the band’s double threat as both arrangers and writers.

“We’re thrilled to join forces with Cleopatra Records to release our take on “Alone Again (Naturally)”. The best covers are the ones that get turned on their head, and what we do is drastically different from the original. We’re stoked to have the opportunity to inject some velocity and bubblegum punky energy to a 70’s classic that deserves to come out from under the radar!”
