Jacks Manequin Offers Free Christmas Song

In time for the holidays, Jacks Mannequin is giving away a free Christmas song from now until Christmas. The song is titled “The Lights And Buzz,” which originally appeared as bonus track on 2005′s Everything in Transit.

Jacks Mannequin recently stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live for a performance. The band played their song “Release Me” and “Casting Lines” from their recent album People And Things, released earlier this year on Sire Records.

Jack’s Mannequin has unveiled a collection of upcoming tour dates for the coming year. The band continues to support their latest release, People And Things (Sire Records). The album followed up to 2008′s The Glass Passenger.

Jack’s Mannequin and Sire Records are revving people up for the October 4th release of the new record People And Things with a 3-minute clip, which can be seen here. The trailer features commentary on the album, which the band claims to be highly personal.

Jack’s Mannequin, which features Andrew McMahon (Something Corporate), has posted the first single from the upcoming record, entitled “My Racing Thoughts”, here.

McMahon and crew are looking to support the record with a headlining Fall tour, beginning in October.

Jack’s Mannequin has released a brand new song with an accompanying lyric video. The song is titled “My Racing Thoughts” and is set to appear on the group’s latest release, People And Things, expected to hit later this year on Sire Records. The album will serve as a follow up to 2008′s The Glass Passenger.

Guster Announces New EP and Tour With Jack’s Mannequin

Guster has announced that the indie rock group will be releasing a new EP in time for summer titled On The Ocean. The EP will feature six new songs, including unreleased tracks as well as acoustic and remix versions of fan favourites. The EP will only be available on tour and in independent retailers August 2, 2011.

The band will also be hitting the road along side Jack’s Mannequin starting August 2nd, for a tour that will stretch into September. Tour listings can be found below.

Jack’s Mannequin Gets Vinyl Treatment

Jack’s Mannequin has just announced that on December 7th, they will be rereleasing their debut album, Everything In Transit, on vinyl.

This will be the first time the album has been reissued since its original August 2005 release. The reissued vinyl will include new artwork and sequencing, and will feature two new songs — an a cappella version of “Holiday” and “La La Lie (West Coast Winter version)“.

The album is available for pre-order here. All pre-orders will be signed by Jack’s Mannequin frontman Andrew McMahon.

First Annual Dear Jack Foundation Benefit Concert (Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin)

Andrew McMahon has announced that he will be playing in both his Jack’s Mannequin and Something Corporate lineup to kick off the first Annual Dear Jack Foundation fundraiser. The benefit concert will be held November 18, 2010 at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, and will mark the first time McMahon will perform with both of his bands. Special guests Marc Roberge from OAR and singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson are also set to perform. McMahon comments on the event:

“This is going to be a really special night. To share the stage with so many close friends is a blessing in itself, but to do so while working on behalf of young adults with cancer gives me great joy… Hopefully this is a tradition that will last for many years to come.”

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on September 18th via Ticketmaster.

Jack’s Mannequin Release Deluxe Edition of the Glass Passenger

Jack’s Mannequin will release a special, digital only Deluxe Edition of their sophomore album The Glass Passenger exclusively through iTunes, which due to unforeseen circumstances, has been bumped one week to be released on Mar 23, 2010.

The Glass Passenger Deluxe Edition will be comprised of the full The Glass Passenger album along with the In Valleys EP, The Ghost Overground EP, exclusive footage from Jack’s Mannequin on tour, plus ten, never-before-heard, live tracks. The track listing is below.
