Indie act The Dodos has announced details for their next album. The full length will be titled Carrier and is set to drop on August 27, 2013 via Polyvinyl Records and Dine Alone (Canada). Meric Long comments on how the passing of guitarist Chris Reimer impacted the album:
“Chris was a huge influence on the way I think about guitar, songwriting, and music in general… seeing how he could transform and shape sound with an electric guitar inspired me to explore more tones and use those tones to begin writing a song.”

Defeater has announced details for their next LP. The album will be titled Letters Home and is due out on July 16, 2013. Guitarist Jay Maas comments on what fans can expect:
“Letter Home is more focused on sounding dirty and mean, but at the same time we have improved as songwriters so some of these ten tracks are our most accessible. This is my favorite Defeater release; I think it pulls from all of the band members’ influences collectively and I can’t wait for people to hear it. July 16th can’t come soon enough.”
