Crime in Stereo have been forced to cancel two shows due to “emergency oral surgery” undergone by vocalist Kristian Hallbert. The band explained:
Kristian, our singer, just got out of emergency oral surgery this afternoon and is under his surgeon’s orders not to sing (or talk) for the next few days. We hate canceling shows but have no choice but to pull out of this week’s Raleigh NC and Lancaster PA shows with Streetlight Manifesto, The Wonder Years and Dan Potthast. We’re super bummed about this but Kristian has to heal so he can be in shape to perform this Friday + Sunday in NYC and this Saturday in Poughkeepsie with these bands. Our deepest apologies to our friends in Raleigh and Lancaster
The band is touring in support of their 2009 Bridge Nine album, I Was Trying to Deescribe You To Someone

Toronto’s The Flatliners have announced plans to release Monumental on September 28th, a three song release only available on vinyl and digitally. Two tracks are exclusive to the release and “Monumental” is off their latest full length titled Cavalcade. Chris Cresswell from The Flatliners had this to say about the release:
Remember when bands used to release “singles” on 7” pieces of wax? They’d also come with B-sides from their records on them. Remember? Well since we just recently got “vinyl records” in snowy Canada, we don’t remember either…
Alas! This coming September we bring you the ‘Monumental’ single! (Applause) And of course, the lovely folks at Fat Wreck Chords are (man)handling the release. The A side will be the title track (“Monumental”) from our latest album Cavalcade, while the B-side boasts 2 songs picked up and dusted off from the Cavalcade cutting room floor that are just far too sweet to rob from you folks. And on top of all that, our very talented friend and delicious food enthusiast Richard Minino (AKA Horsebites) has whipped up some really awesome artwork for it. So get stoked, cause we’re already there.
The Flatliners have recently been tagged to tour with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and they’ll be at Riot Fest, CMJ and Fest. The dates can be found here.
We also recently spoke to Cresswell about Cavalcade here.
