Bigwig Cancels Groezrock Apperance

New Jersey’s Bigwig have been forced to cancel their appearance at this year’s Groezrock Festival in Belgirum.They explained:

“BIGWIG will NOT be touring during April/Groezrock due to injury/surgery. Our apologies. We just don’t want to half ass a show and will be making it up with a full euro tour. Cheers”

Groezrock will take place in Meerhoot, Belgium April 28th-29th and feature performances by Refused, Rancid, Lagwagon, Yellowcard, Face To Face, Hot Water Music, 7 Seconds, Cobra Skulls, Anti-Flag, Gorilla Biscuits, Hallows, Lifetime, Terror and many more. Punk Rock Bowling Festival Announces First 5 Bands

The 14^th Annual Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival have announced their first string of headlining bands.

Heading up this year’s lineup are veteran punkers Rancid, NOFX, Pennywise, the Adicts, and the Briefs, with more bands to be announced soon.

Punk Rock Bowling started back in 1999 and has since grown into a 3 day festival in downtown Las Vegas that caters to both older and newer acts within the punk rock community. The festival features over 60 bands and attracts upwards of 5,000 fans each year.

Garbage Announces New Album, Tour

Wisconsin alt-rockers Garbage announce the release of their 5^th studio album, Not Your Kind Of People, following a 7 year dry spell. The album will be released through the band’s own label STUNVOLUME on May 15.

In support of the new record, Garbage will embark on a tour, headlining shows throughout Europe and the US, as well as stopping to play several European festivals. Front-woman Shirley Manson had this to say about the upcoming tour:

“Thinking about going back on the road is both thrilling and terrifying in equal measure,” said Shirley Manson. “………but we’ve always enjoyed a little pain mixed in with our pleasure.”

I Call Fives Announce New 7″

New Jersey’s I Call Fives has announced that they will be releasing a brand new 7″. The vinyl will serve as a precursor to their next full length, due out in June via Pure Noise Records. The 7″ holds the title Someone That’s Not You and is set for a March 20, 2012 release. The release includes two new songs, an acoustic song, and a cover of Third Eye Blind’s “How’s It Going To Be.”

Code Orange Kids Tour, Sign To Deathwish, Release Split

Fresh off the release of their Cycles seven inch on Mayfly Records, Code Orange Kids have unveiled all their plans for the upcoming months.

First off, they are currently on tour with Xerxes until early February – the dates are below. Afterwards, Deathwish Inc. has announced the follow up to Cycles later this year. Deathwish explained their excitement with working with the band by saying:

Fresh out of high school and with an average age of 18 years old, Pennsylvania’s Code Orange Kids remind us of our own embryonic days in the aggressive music scene. They do things their way, creatively cutting their own path through it all. Unconcerned with the direction of other artists, their brand of gritty hardcore/punk is simply refreshing to hear. Merging cryptic melody, dirty hardcore power, and intense dirges into their own uniquely inspired sound.

Furthermore, on April 17th – Topshelf Records will be releasing a Code Orange Kids/Full of Hell split EP. More details will be released soon.

Cancer Bats Release Full-Length; Video For ‘Old Blood’

Toronto’s Cancer Bats just announced the release of their new full-length, Dead Set On Living, on Distort, Inc. (Canada).

The album, set to drop on April 17th, marks their fourth full-length release and is the follow up to 2010′s Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones.

To promote the album the band has released a video for the lead single, called ‘Old Blood’, which can be seen here.

Murder By Death Finish Mixing Next Full Length

Dark country-indie outfit Murder By Death has announced that their next album has been finalized. The band writes on Facebook:

“New album mixed and done! We just want to say thanks to all of you lovely people. 2011 was the best year this band has ever had, and we think 2012 is gonna be even better thanks to your constant support. Hell yeah!”

The currently untitled album will serve as a follow up to 2010′s Good Morning, Magpie (Vagrant Records).

Flatfoot 56 Complete Recording For Next Full Length

Celtic punkers Flatfoot 56 has announced that they have wrapped up recording their currently untitled upcoming full length. The band recorded the record under the guidance of producing veteran Johnny Rioux (Street Dogs, Social Distortion and Bruisers). Frontman Tobin Bawinkel comments:

“Recording with Rioux was awesome… He coaxes us out of our comfort zones and inspired us to write music that pushes past the boundaries we thought we had as songwriters and musicians, and it was truly an invigorating experience to work with him.”

The band last released their previous LP, Black Thorn, in 2010.
