Verbacide has posted a new mixtape for download titled Verbicide Select Mixtape Vol. 6. According tot he press release, the album includes a “collection of the best and most popular tracks featured on VerbicideMagazine.com in the past couple months, alongside a few special, previously unreleased tracks.”
Artists range from Mountain Man, Central Services, to Howl, to indie rock and garage rock (The Dead Weather, School of Seven Bells). It also features tracks by Mike Patton, Yacht, Stripmall Architecture, and more!

Street Sweeper Social Club, comprised of Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) and Boots Riley (The Coup), returns with The Ghetto Blaster EP, out August 10, 2010 on SSSC/ILG. It’s the follow-up to their 2009 critically acclaimed, self-titled debut. The lead single off the seven song EP is a cover of M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes” which the band just posted to their MySpace page today.

Bad Religion have posted the first song from their new album, The Dissent of Man. The track si called The Devil In Stitches and can be heard below.
The Dissent of Man is the long-running group’s 15th studio album and will be released on September 28th. A pre-order for the release just recently begun.

Long running Californian punk band The Adolescents have released three songs from their upcoming album, The Fastest Kid Alive. The band has been working on the album since 2007 and it will be the first since 2005′s O.C. Confidential.

Fake Problems has debuted a new track from their upcoming album, Real Ghosts Caught On Tape, due out September 21, 2010 on SideOneDummy Records. The track is titled “Soulless” and can be downloaded in exchange for an email address over on the band’s website. The new material serves as a quick follow up to 2009′s It’s Great To Be Alive.

Massachusetts natives Within The Ruins are set to release their sophomore Victory Records album on August 31st through Victory Records.

Transit have posted a new song online. The track, A Living Day, comes from the band’s upcoming full-length, Keep This to Yourself, which is slated for a mid-August release via Run For Cover Records. The song can be heard at the band’s MySpace page.
Keep This to Yourself follows their 2009 EP, Stay Home.

The song can be downloaded or streamed for free here.
The original version appeared on The Talking Heads‘ 1985 album, Little Creatures.

Matt Costa has announced the release of his third album, Mobile Chateau, on September 21st via Brushfire Records. The new record was recorded at Pheasant Studios in Santa Ana, CA with Costa taking the production reins for the first time. Hie new album has been described as “a bold step forward into the kaleidoscopic beyond,” which Costa explains:
I’ve always been drawn to that sound, I’ve been hearing songs like these in my head for my whole life and Mobile Chateau is the closest I’ve gotten to getting those songs out of my head and onto a record.”
A fall tour has been confirmed with dates throughout the US and Canada, Check below for current dates. The first track from the album, “The Season,” can be downloaded for free here.

New Jersey’s Bigwig have announced plans to release an upcoming covers album, called Covers, that will feature every single cover song that the band has ever recorded.
From that album the band has just posted a cover of Nirvana‘s Sliver. The track was recorded in a small PA basement for a “Nirvana tribute compilation” released in 2004. The song can be heard here.
There’s no official release date for the album yet. The band will be joining Pennywise on an Canadian tour this September.

Comeback Kid has released a new track from their upcoming album, Symptoms & Cures, due out August 31, 2010 on Victory Records (US) and Distort Entertainment (CAN). The band has also given further details about the album, commenting on some special “enhanced album” features. The enhanced album includes mixes without vocals, guitars, drums, or bass tracks for all 11 songs, allowing fans to play along with the record.

Minneapolis singer/songwriter Mike Midwestern has posted a free download of his new 3-song “Everything’s A War” EP on his website. The EP is a teaser to his brand new album due out in September. Details on the album are forthcoming. Mike Midwestern celebrated the release of the EP last Thursday with a boisterous crowd at the Kitty Cat Klub.
