Springman Records have been working on Punk Rock Holocaust for a very long time. It's been constantly pushed back, so any press for the original releases dates have become pretty much useless and a thing of the past. But it is finally here, Punk Rock Holocaust, the feature length film, is finally here for the public's viewing!!

But what is Punk Rock Holocaust you ask? Well the setting is this: It's the 2003 Vans Warped Tour. Bands are out there rocking hard, fans are going crazy, and countless crew members are working around the clock to make the events run smoothly. But something is going wrong. Someone is killing off the bands, fans, and crew one by one, or sometimes by the dozens! There are too many murders to ignore now, and someone needs to get to the bottom of it, and that someone is tour reporter Heather Vantress. She follows the clues, asks the questions, and finds the answers. Throughout the movie, she talks to Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman, evil record company executive Belial (played by Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman) , and the band members all player by themselves.

But let's be honest, when you're recording a movie during one of the biggest tours in the world, you don't have the most time to set up sets or do effects; and you're main actors are musicians, fans, and crew members, you can't expect to see an Oscar worthy movie. It is a B movie in that sense. The blood and gore and vomiting is overly exaggerated and clearly fake. The acting is pretty bad, but none of the "actors" are real actors so you can't expect a masterpiece. One thing I am incredibly impressed with, is how many different ways they came up with to kill off the members; whoever came up with those ideas is one sick person. There always seems to be a new way to murder someone here, although they do prefer the classic knife stabs and sword impalings.

Punk Rock Holocaust is a great teenager movie. It is definitely one I will be watching with my friends when they come over. The story is really thought out and mocks the music scene of today, while there's enough cornyness to make it funny and enough gore to keep you entertained. I for one can't wait for the sequel; hopefully that on doesn't get pushed back as much.
