2008 has been a good year for us so far. We busted into the new year with a fancy new design, high hopes and high expectations. We were excited for the prospect of hearing tons of new albums from some great bands that ended the year in the studio. However, one band came out of nowhere to supply us with the first big surprise of 2008. That band was New York's Slingshot Dakota. The duo wowed us with their sophomore album, , and we praised it heavily in our review for the album, summing it up as a "delightful piece of indie-pop." In fact, we were so enamoured with the release that we wanted to share it with everyone we could and got in touch with the band.
