So-Cal post-rock outfit Fellow Robot have released a new single to raise awareness of the plight of the children of Aleppo, Syria. The Tools of War is out now (stream available below) and all proceeds from the sales of the single will be donated to the American Refugee Committee – http://arcrelief.org/, with the band also encourage donations via their website – http://www.therobotsguidetomusic.com/.
The Tools of War will feature on the trio’s forthcoming debut album The Robots Guide to Music.

Boy Rex, the brainchild of Jack Senff, who’s former bands include Merchant Ships, William Bonney and North Folk, has signed on with Near Mint Records for his first full length LP, due to drop in 2017. The project’s debut EP, The Bloodmonths landed last year via Funeral Sounds and Soft Speak Records.
Burlington, Ontario punk rock veterans Shift-D have signed with Montreal based Thousand Island Records. The label will be releasing the quartet’s as-yet-untitled new record in 2017, which will coincide with the label’s re-release of the band’s 2015 LP Battle On Your Own. Both records are due to drop at some point in 2017.
Australian stoner punk trio Dune Rats have released a stream of their new single Scott Green. The song will feature on their as-yet-untitled full length, due to drop in 2017 via Dine Alone Records. The band have said this about how the track came to be:
“We made Scott Green out at Joshua Tree in America with Zac from Fidlar. We had 5 days to write some songs in between tours in the US & UK and we busted out a fuck load of tunes having a blast in the middle of bum fuck nowhere. One day we went to ask people at Walmart if they “Scott Green?”…and it took all day. When we got back Zac said “you better have a fucken song after wasting a day looking for who’s got green. We just started making a song about the day – “Who’s Scott Green” – and that was it.“

Cambridge indie-punk newcomers Grieving are streaming their latest single Ownership. The track is the second to be featured following the release of their debut single No Sleep last month. The band have said this about the new track:
“This was a big shift musically from our first track, No Sleep, and I’m sure we’ll take another shift on the next. There’s definitely a Dischord / Touch & Go feel to some of those guitars and any imperfections here are what makes it what it is. The vocals were done in one or two takes, and were the last to be put to tape of the six demos we recorded, so you can hear that rawness in there. There are some dark themes lyrically but then there’s melody and warmth too. Hooks will always be an important part of what we do.”

“This tune is a kick at the people and things that we are distancing ourselves from now. I don’t think that lyrically it needs making sense of, but those who wish to interpret it will do that anyway of course. As I said though, just a kick.”

Legendary horror punk outfit The Misfits have announced that they will reunite to headline the Riot Fest shows in Denver and Chicago in September. These shows will mark the first time original vocalist and songwriter Glenn Danzig and bassist Jerry Only have shared a stage in over 30 years and many fans thought this day would never come following several acrimonious legal battles between the pair. Long time guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein will join them for the shows.
